When they left, a demon-possessed man who couldn’t speak was brought to Jesus.
22 Then a demon-possessed man, who was blind and couldn’t speak, was brought to Jesus. He healed the man so that he could both speak and see.
A vast crowd brought to him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn’t speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all.
So I brought him to your disciples, but they couldn’t heal him.”

But the man went and spread the word, proclaiming to everyone what had happened. As a result, large crowds soon surrounded Jesus, and he couldn’t publicly enter a town anywhere. He had to stay out in the secluded places, but people from everywhere kept coming to him.
They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus.
20 One time Jesus entered a house, and the crowds began to gather again. Soon he and his disciples couldn’t even find time to eat.
And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them.
Then the king deeply regretted what he had said; but because of the vows he had made in front of his guests, he couldn’t refuse her.
24 Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre. He didn’t want anyone to know which house he was staying in, but he couldn’t keep it a secret.
And whenever this spirit seizes him, it throws him violently to the ground. Then he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast out the evil spirit, but they couldn’t do it.”
Afterward, when Jesus was alone in the house with his disciples, they asked him, “Why couldn’t we cast out that evil spirit?”
Then he returned and found the disciples asleep. He said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Couldn’t you watch with me even one hour?
When he returned to them again, he found them sleeping, for they couldn’t keep their eyes open. And they didn’t know what to say.
Inside, the leading priests and the entire high council were trying to find evidence against Jesus, so they could put him to death. But they couldn’t find any.
Pilate couldn’t believe that Jesus was already dead, so he called for the Roman officer and asked if he had died yet.
When he finally did come out, he couldn’t speak to them. Then they realized from his gestures and his silence that he must have seen a vision in the sanctuary.
When they couldn’t find him, they went back to Jerusalem to search for him there.
but they couldn’t reach him because of the crowd. So they went up to the roof and took off some tiles. Then they lowered the sick man on his mat down into the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
19 Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they couldn’t get to him because of the crowd.
I begged your disciples to cast out the spirit, but they couldn’t do it.”
But they didn’t know what he meant. Its significance was hidden from them, so they couldn’t understand it, and they were afraid to ask him about it.
14 One day Jesus cast out a demon from a man who couldn’t speak, and when the demon was gone, the man began to speak. The crowds were amazed,
They would say, ‘There’s the person who started that building and couldn’t afford to finish it!’
If this man were not from God, he couldn’t have done it.”
But some said, “This man healed a blind man. Couldn’t he have kept Lazarus from dying?”
But the people couldn’t believe, for as Isaiah also said,

Then all the Egyptians dug along the riverbank to find drinking water, for they couldn’t drink the water from the Nile.
