That night Joseph left for Egypt with the child and Mary, his mother,
But that night as the workers slept, his enemy came and planted weeds among the wheat, then slipped away.
After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone.
He replied, “You know the saying, ‘Red sky at night means fair weather tomorrow;
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, Peter — this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.”
Just then, as Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Leave that innocent man alone. I suffered through a terrible nightmare about him last night.”
They told the soldiers, “You must say, ‘Jesus’ disciples came during the night while we were sleeping, and they stole his body.’
Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens.
Day and night he wandered among the burial caves and in the hills, howling and cutting himself with sharp stones.
Late that night, the disciples were in their boat in the middle of the lake, and Jesus was alone on land.
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, Peter — this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny three times that you even know me.”
8 That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep.
Then she lived as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the Temple but stayed there day and night, worshiping God with fasting and prayer.
“Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.”
12 One day soon afterward Jesus went up on a mountain to pray, and he prayed to God all night.
Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said, “Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place.”
And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can’t help you.’
“But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’
He may come in the middle of the night or just before dawn. But whenever he comes, he will reward the servants who are ready.
That night two people will be asleep in one bed; one will be taken, the other left.
Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
Every day Jesus went to the Temple to teach, and each evening he returned to spend the night on the Mount of Olives.
but they begged him, “Stay the night with us, since it is getting late.” So he went home with them.
We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.
But at night there is danger of stumbling because they have no light.”
So Judas left at once, going out into the night.
With him came Nicodemus, the man who had come to Jesus at night. He brought about seventy-five pounds of perfumed ointment made from myrrh and aloes.

But an angel of the Lord came at night, opened the gates of the jail, and brought them out. Then he told them,
They were watching for him day and night at the city gate so they could murder him, but Saul was told about their plot.
So during the night, some of the other believers lowered him in a large basket through an opening in the city wall.
So Peter invited the men to stay for the night. The next day he went with them, accompanied by some of the brothers from Joppa.
6 The night before Peter was to be placed on trial, he was asleep, fastened with two chains between two soldiers. Others stood guard at the prison gate.
That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!”
Even at that hour of the night, the jailer cared for them and washed their wounds. Then he and everyone in his household were immediately baptized.
10 That very night the believers sent Paul and Silas to Berea. When they arrived there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent!
Watch out! Remember the three years I was with you — my constant watch and care over you night and day, and my many tears for you.
That night the Lord appeared to Paul and said, “Be encouraged, Paul. Just as you have been a witness to me here in Jerusalem, you must preach the Good News in Rome as well.”
So that night, as ordered, the soldiers took Paul as far as Antipatris.
In fact, that is why the twelve tribes of Israel zealously worship God night and day, and they share the same hope I have. Yet, Your Majesty, they accuse me for having this hope!
For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me,
27 About midnight on the fourteenth night of the storm, as we were being driven across the Sea of Adria, the sailors sensed land was near.
God knows how often I pray for you. Day and night I bring you and your needs in prayer to God, whom I serve with all my heart by spreading the Good News about his Son.
The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living.
For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread

Don’t you remember, dear brothers and sisters, how hard we worked among you? Night and day we toiled to earn a living so that we would not be a burden to any of you as we preached God’s Good News to you.
Night and day we pray earnestly for you, asking God to let us see you again to fill the gaps in your faith.
For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.
