Rom 4:19

And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead — and so was Sarah’s womb.

For God had promised, “I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Then Abraham bowed down to the ground, but he laughed to himself in disbelief. “How could I become a father at the age of 100?” he thought. “And how can Sarah have a baby when she is ninety years old?”

Gen 17:19

But God replied, “No — Sarah, your wife, will give birth to a son for you. You will name him Isaac, and I will confirm my covenant with him and his descendants as an everlasting covenant.

Gen 17:21

But my covenant will be confirmed with Isaac, who will be born to you and Sarah about this time next year.”

Gen 18:6

So Abraham ran back to the tent and said to Sarah, “Hurry! Get three large measures of your best flour, knead it into dough, and bake some bread.”

Gen 18:9

“Where is Sarah, your wife?” the visitors asked. “She’s inside the tent,” Abraham replied.

Gen 18:10

Then one of them said, “I will return to you about this time next year, and your wife, Sarah, will have a son!” Sarah was listening to this conversation from the tent.

Abraham and Sarah were both very old by this time, and Sarah was long past the age of having children.

Then the LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby?’

Gen 18:14

Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Gen 18:15

Sarah was afraid, so she denied it, saying, “I didn’t laugh.” But the LORD said, “No, you did laugh.”

Gen 20:2

Abraham introduced his wife, Sarah, by saying, “She is my sister.” So King Abimelech of Gerar sent for Sarah and had her brought to him at his palace.

Then Abimelech took some of his sheep and goats, cattle, and male and female servants, and he presented them to Abraham. He also returned his wife, Sarah, to him.

And he said to Sarah, “Look, I am giving your ‘brother’ 1,000 pieces of silver in the presence of all these witnesses. This is to compensate you for any wrong I may have done to you. This will settle any claim against me, and your reputation is cleared.”

For the LORD had caused all the women to be infertile because of what happened with Abraham’s wife, Sarah.

1 The LORD kept his word and did for Sarah exactly what he had promised.

And Sarah declared, “God has brought me laughter. All who hear about this will laugh with me.

Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse a baby? Yet I have given Abraham a son in his old age!”

But Sarah saw Ishmael — the son of Abraham and her Egyptian servant Hagar — making fun of her son, Isaac.

Gen 21:12

But God told Abraham, “Do not be upset over the boy and your servant. Do whatever Sarah tells you, for Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.

Then Abraham buried his wife, Sarah, there in Canaan, in the cave of Machpelah, near Mamre (also called Hebron).
