1 This is the written account of the descendants of Adam. When God created human beings, he made them to be like himself.

Rather, you must seek the LORD your God at the place of worship he himself will choose from among all the tribes — the place where his name will be honored.
12 “If a fellow Hebrew sells himself or herself to be your servant and serves you for six years, in the seventh year you must set that servant free.
“The king must not build up a large stable of horses for himself or send his people to Egypt to buy horses, for the LORD has told you, ‘You must never return to Egypt.’
The king must not take many wives for himself, because they will turn his heart away from the LORD. And he must not accumulate large amounts of wealth in silver and gold for himself.
